Dr. Carnelius D. Gilder is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Cg Legacy Holdings, LLC, dba Champion Development and Growth Academy. Through this work, Dr. Gilder specializes in leadership development, individual and team growth, executive coaching, organizational development, and professional speaking.
Carnelius D. Gilder, Ed.D, is an educator, transformational leader, and an access advocate who serves as the Superintendent of Schools for West Sabine Independent School District, a thriving rural district deep in the heart of the Piney Woods of East Texas. He has led WSISD as superintendent since December 2020.
Dr. Gilder is best known as a voice and a visionary. Through his tenure as superintendent, Carnelius has strived for equity within the district and across the state & nation.
With extensive leadership experience in public education and civic leadership, Dr. Gilder has served as an administrator for 15 years as Superintendent, Principal, Special Programs Coordinator, and Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction. In addition to his professional leadership roles, he also serves as a licensed Reverend, bringing a strong foundation of faith, service, and purpose-driven leadership to his work. Dr. Gilder has served as expert educator and advisory to national organizations like NCEE; statewide organizations such as TASA, TARS, and Moak Casey; and local groups that govern food insecurity, early childhood education, housing, and more.
